WHY SO SERIOUS!
Swapmeet Guidelines

The following guidelines are in place to keep the swap meet forum running in a satisfactory manner.

* Don't hijack someone's thread by saying "I have this item for sale too, send me a PM!" etc. If you want to sell an item, make a new thread for it. Any such hi-jacking post will be deleted.

* On the topic of hijacking, please don't make useless posts, telling people that they could/should buy/sell their items on eBay, or another similar online auction site. Just about every forum user should be aware of eBay, and by listing their goods for sale here, it's obvious that they don't want to sell their goods on eBay.

* Make sure you know what you're buying - whether or not the item will work, etc. It's your responsibility to know what you're buying! Not ours!

* If an item is up for auction, please bid in reasonable increments. Bidding in $1 increments on a $200 item isn't reasonable. Just use your common sense on this one - something like $5 on a $50 item is reasonable, as is $10 on a $200 item. Stupid offers or bids will be removed.

* If there are any special conditions regarding a sale, please state them in the thread. Some conditions would be pick-up only (in which case, make sure you state where you live), post only, or the items not being available until a certain date.

* Respect the conditions that the seller states.

* No commercial sales are allowed on the forums. This means that you cannot sell either new or used items through your business, or sell items in commercial quantities. As commercial sales can be disguised somewhat, Moderators may, at their discretion, close any threads which appear to be commercial sales.

* Any older Swapmeet threads will be closed by the moderators, to prevent people from posting in out-dated threads. Any thread which has not been replied to by the topic starter for a period of two weeks will be locked. If you wish to re-open the thread, feel free to drop a PM to a moderator, and they will unlock it. Alternatively, you can "bump" the thread before it reaches it's "expiry date" (by posting a meaningless message ie "bump" or "still for sale"), so that viewers know that your thread is still active. A thread would be locked two weeks after it's last bump.

* Do NOT make a single thread for every item you have for sale. You must contain all the items within the one post to be fair to everyone else.

* Obviously no pirated games are permitted, attemping to sell any will result in a warning and a possible strike against your trader rating.

* Please do not post links to your Ebay auctions or any other auctions elsewhere. If you wish to sell your items do so here.
