According to Australian Newspaper the SMH, the PS3 will cost $799 for the basic version and $999 for one with an extra 40GB of space. |

i found AU$829 20GB HDD and AU$999 60GB HDD from other sources :S anyway, its expensive. BUT, factor in the expensive and new technoloies that are included, and the free network service, it is worth it. probably hold off till MGS4 (2007) unless i get into some cash :/ |

even if it is $829 you know that you may end up spending more then $1000 in total, consoles never have more then one controller out of the box and use the 4 sony has promised AND to get a killer app game you could set youself back over $250 thats 3 official controllers at $50 and one $100 game, however the tilt sensor in the controller and the high development costs for games could push you up by maybe an additional $50, not to mention if the ps3 suffers from the same launch horror stories as the ps2, then your in trouble. |

nah its gonna be cheaper. if sonys site says its that price then thats the price itll be for now. although it still a way off they might drop it a little, but i highly doubt that. all i know is that im not gonan fork out that much for a new console. ill wait till mgs4 and ffxiii. |
