Now Yahoo news is reporting a rumour that there will actually be a price cut. Quote: Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) plans to cut the price of its best-selling Xbox 360 Pro model by $50, to $299 in the next few weeks, the Hollywood Reporter reported citing anonymous sources. ADVERTISEMENT The price cut for the Xbox 360 model with the 20 gigabyte hard drive will come before the video game industry's biggest trade show, E3, taking place in Los Angeles on July 15-17, the report said. Rumors of the Xbox price cut swirled on popular gaming blogs Joystiq and Kotaku last week. The two sites received snapshots of Kmart and Radio Shack flyers advertising the $299 price. Assuming you don't need the component cables for an HD TV and don't care about a wireless, that's the cheapest way to snatch a 360 for sure. Screw K-mart Australia though. Reckon I may just buy a wireless headset and live vision camera if they're 40 bucks each. Hell, maybe a second controller... So I guess the price cut is for realz.

Deleted User	It is Screenplay Microsoft has confirmed an Xbox 360 price cut, with Australians now able to buy an Xbox 360 for cheaper than the rampaging market leader - Nintendo's Wii. Deleted User	I think Microsoft would have said something about the price cuts being temporary, assuming that their purpose is to move units. People will complacently put off a purchase if it remains the same price, but if it is to go up again, they'll dip in before it does. Anyway, I thought the rumour mill had it that the price cuts were to phase out a particular model(s) in favour of the 60GB version. Depends who you believe I guess.
