1up has reported that an author of the first Diablo: The Sin War novel, Richard A. Knaak has in a round about way confirmed there's to be a sequel to the franchise loved by millions of Koreans... oh, and some folks in other parts of the world too (:P).

When asked if the book would have ramifications in Diablo III, Knaak responded that, "The ramifications here will be used for any future project... and I ain't writing for a dead game." He also commented that "Blizzard is very eager to make Diablo fans happy." While this shouldn't been considered as anything remotely concrete (seriously, it's simple conjecture and coyness), at least this should bring a little hope to fans of the Diablo series who feel Blizzard has abandoned their beloved matron for the younger, hotter World of Warcraft.
I dunno about you folks, but I'm stoked. Ever since I finished the Diablo 2 expansion pack I've been hungry for a sequel. It's probably not even in pre-production yet, but hey, at least there's hope, right? :D

It's a shame how there's no other ARPG that is nearly as good as Diablo.
There are lots of clones, but none came even close to the experience. Look at dungeon siege for example, and that's like the better example.

There's always plenty of rumours about D3 and SC2 so I will wait for something more concrete before I start getting excited.

Titan Quest?

Have you actually played titan quest? Because it looks as good as D2, but it certainly doesn't play as well.

The wait is over (for an announcement at least), Diablo 3 is nigh...

Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.
Some key points from the FAQ:
  • Five Classes
  • New class: Witch Doctor
  • Returning characters and locations
  • Gender independent of class
  • Uses Battlenet (free?)
  • release date TBA

The PC is finally getting a release that is not on the other consoles and already seems to be looking great.

I have my own copy of Diablo II with expansion and I have to say that it has been promoted to Numaro Uno of my "To Buy List".

Blizzard I'd have to say are one of the few companies to really look after the PC gamer and they are definitely keeping all 3 franchises (Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft) and that is great for us PC gamers

Awesome to hear that the rumours were true, but then Blizzard would be nuts not to do a followup to Diablo 2. Alas, a new computer will be on my 'to buy' lists as I dare say it won't run all that well on my current POS. Fantastic news though, can't wait :)
Recently finished: Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank:TOD, Bionic Commando Rearmed
Playing: LittleBigPlanet, Rockband!!!111

Yes. In under 3 months I went from being a 360 owner to a PS3 owner. Idiotic? Maybe. Financial Stupidity? Definately. Do I care? No bloody way! :D
