This is indeed exciting news, but, we'll be waiting for a whille since Starcraft 2 is slated for a 2009 release. Diablo 3 might end up hitting us in 2010 or maybe late 2009.

I dunno... could SC2 really need that much more of a computer than WC3? I mean, the AI will need a better processor and stuff I imagine... but still. |

SC2? It's a completely different engine to WC3, but, it looks like anything with today's hardware capabilities will be able to run it full res. Same with Diablo III... with it's damn sexy looks.. Which is a good transition since the D1 to D2 graphics looked attrocious. |

Yer, I'm not too keen on the pre-rendered look from Diablo 1/2. Wasn't too keen on the character designs either... |

Read that up today and thought that the petitioners are retarted. If they want the game darker, turn down the gamma and contrast and fiddle around with the RGB settings. Problem solved! :phrank: |

It's weird to think colourful games = less fun. I would think you'd see more details if anything, but clearly I fail as a gamer. |

True, but half of Diablo's appeal was its atmosphere. The whole thing that set the tone for the first game for me was when you face The Butcher and his room doesn't have a single bit of floor or wall not covered in blood/viscera. I could say the same for Diablo 2 but I can't be as specific since I didn't play it as much as the first. Diablo is without a doubt one of the most disturbing horror games I've played, even if the gameplay isn't as frantic as your Resident Evils and Silent Hills. Actually, if they new Silent Hill came out and was bright and cheerful, I dare say there'd be more backlash than we're seeing now... That aside, there were areas that weren't very horrific at all (like the desert playing fields in Diablo 2 and so on), so there could very well be other areas that are just as dread inducing as there were in the earlier entries. We just plain haven't seen enough media for it yet. |
