When is Dexter NOT thinking of stabbing someone? lol Edit: I don't think Spoiler: click to toggle Miguel is having an affair. Why would he have wanted so adamantly to kill that woman previously, and then all of a sudden want to root her after he's had his first kill and enjoyed it? He's breaking the code, Dexter is going to have to put him down. That's the only logical course the series can take, else Miguel would become a series main stay and I just don't see that happening (and if it does, it'd become boring, even if I'm enjoying his involvement for the time being).
