OK this will be a bit sketchy since I'm at work and my memory is bad today: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe with inbuilt wifi AMD Barton 3.2Ghz (almost got the 64bit version but so far still nothing really uses it!) 1G twin X Corsair RAM 3200 2 x 160G WD SATA HD (was going to set up RAID but couldn't be stuffed) GeCube ATI 9800XT (this was a rare card that actually was identical as the top 9800 ran at but was half the price Gecube ran out of the proper chip so just used the full spec one, ATI made them withdraw stock from teh shelf, I tracked it down the day before) Samsung 730BF LCD, gotta love the 4ns reponse time. built in sound which was digital 6.1 or 7.1..never used anything more than 2 speaker and a sub anyway. Netcomm modem....hung onto it, may use it again...so far 3yrs and no use! Sony CD-RW...can't remember the name but old nowadays NEC DL DVD burner again can't remember the model off hand Logitech 2.1 speakers Logitech cordless mouse/keyboard This whole system was built with games in mind, as my previous one had a low end Nvidia card...so this ran games really well and really fast, I just don't have the time to play games on a PC, they also tend to bore me after a while...so I'm due to built a new one later this year so will be going the low to middle vid card again as there is no point spending $300+ on a card thats hardly used. My new system will probably be another AMD based system as they rock. |

Nice specs, both of ya, and ingram, love that monitor... so shinny I've sort of given up on overspending on computers - trying to save up to buy MY OWN car or motorcycle - which is why i'm sticking with the system that has never had to be reformatted or fkkd around with for almost 3 years now - making it the longest system i've had w/o a hitch! Of course, nowadays the system is pretty sluggish and one of the HDDs lost 2 gigs or so - lost all my james bond divx movies =(. Here are the current specs of the mini beast: Cpu: Pentium 4 @ 2.66Ghz FSB800 HT Technology Mobo: Gigabyte (forgot the model number) Ram: 1GB Generic DDR Ram (dont' remember PCXXXX spec) GFX: Nvidia Geforce 6800 GS/XT AGP Sound: Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Music HDD: Seagate 60GB + Seagate 120GB IDE CDROMs: Sony DVD-R/RW +/- Burner + Liteon DVD-Rom Case: Antec P180 PSU: Antec Neo HE 500W Speakers: Logitech Z-2300 + Plantronics Gamecom Pro1 (USB) Peripherals: Wacom Intuos 3 Graphics Tablet + Logitech Rumblepad 2 Controller Monitor: BenQ FP91G+ 4:3 8ms ... If this system ever gives me trouble, i'm going to give it a 'temp' update - waiting for the market to change over to DX10 and AMD's quad-core whats-it. Cpu: Intel E6400 CPU Core 2 Duo Mobo: MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition Ram: GeIL 1G(2x512MB) DDRII-800 (PC2-6400): Dual Channel Kit (That's right, moving away from the generic =)) GFX: Gigabyte GeForce 7600GT, 256MB, DDRIII, PCIEx16, DUAL-LINK DVI, SILENT-PIPE II Sound: The same X-Fi Card - maddest little beast in the world! HDD: 320gb Seagate Sata2 Everything Else: Same Here's a picture of the set up atm - i'll up the new setup when i get the time to buy m shinny new desk =) - the speaker set up atm is really stupid, half on the desk, half on the shelf and it also never hurts to get a bigger desk for more space :) Posted Image |

Now with 8bit graphics!

don't worry about the steelsound they're crapaola. Have a look at getting a G15 instead of a G11, it will open up more options for your games later on. |

Actually not impressed with the probs the board I was going to use has....and thinking of going the IMac route and possibly dual booting...I don't get time to use my PC for games anymore..my wife with Sims is about it...we tend to play DS and Wii a whole lot more...only prob is the cost of the Imac...despite huge drops in PC component pricing...Macs are still pricey. |
