Okay, confessions time people. Did anyone here pick up this game/know someone that bought it? Ingram and I saw some copies in JB on one of our GHWT pilgrimages the other day. The boxart was surprisingly good, with a lovely embossed slip. Pity for Nintendo that I don't buy games based on the cover.

Actually I was thinking the other day the Nintendo released this game at the wrong time. At the launch of the Wii would have been much better. For one thing, the music game genre was much less bloated than it is now, as although SingStar and Guitar Hero still existed on people's radars, a full-instrument game was mostly unheard of. Song lists in music games tended to be shorter as well, with little emphasis on DLC. Furthermore, the Wii's motion controls were much newer and more exciting as a whole. Gamers had yet to become jaded with largely poorly implemented controls.

Sad thing is, I think the advertising campaign is working (at least in Australia). I don't think it'll be as big a hit as Wii Play (I don't think anything will), but it'll still sell too damn much.

There have been a helluva lot of ads (if you live in a capital city) but I find myself emphasising with the demographic they're advertising to and feel, if not quite pissed off, then very cynical about it. But then, I'm not the one they're advertising to.

Am I the only retard who took over a week to realise that the people in the ad are actually playing a song? I actually paid attention to it last night and saw the song title... before that I though they were just making pretty noises!

I've actively ignored the ad as best I can, so I can't say I've noticed much of anything. I just know there's lots of ads and that I actually know people intending to buy it for people for Christmas or for themselves .

Well, the ad is supposed to be playing Wham's 'Wake me up before you go'. And, quite clearly, it ain't. One of my new housemates wants to buy WiiMusic. Considering the Wii is mine, I don't know how successful a venture that will be for him. :P

I'd say something like "Sure, if you want. But you ain't defiling my Wii with it". I'm a douche like that though.
