Heath Ledger is about as menacing as a grey pair of pants. I am looking forward to seeing him get 4 kinds of shit beat out of him though. |

It will be interesting to see how he handles the role but I'm sure he won't disappoint
:D Edit: A Message From The Joker Shortly after Heath Ledger's Joker was finally revealed in all his creepy glory, the viral marketing site that revealed the first look at The Dark Knight's Clown Prince of Crime has been taken down ... or has it? The site -- IBelieveInHarveyDentToo -- initially boasted a vandalized portrait of the "I Believe in Harvey Dent" mock political ad that debuted last week before the first close-up look at Ledger's Joker was gradually revealed underneath it. The Joker pic has since been removed from the site, which is now apparently blank save for a "Page not found" message. But that's not all that's there. As countless readers have informed us, when you highlight the site's black background you see an endless "Hahahahaha," presumably scrawled by the Joker himself. However, not all the letters are "H" and "A"; the ones that aren't spell out the cryptic message, "See you in December." Is that a clue as to when fans can finally expect to see a Dark Knight teaser trailer? A video message from The Joker? Or perhaps more images of Ledger in character? Looks like we'll all have to wait to find that out, Bat-fans. http://au.movies.ign.com/articles/790/790724p1.html Gotta love Viral marketing... |

Big Knight Bat-sequel to shoot in IMAX and new images revealed! The Dark Knight will shoot four scenes in the IMAX format, Warner Bros. and IMAX announced Sunday. One of the scenes to be shot in IMAX will be the Joker's introduction. "Batman has some of the most extraordinary characters in pop culture. We wanted the Joker to have the grandest entrance possible," director Christopher Nolan advised USA Today, which also ran two new photos from the production. One of the images showed The Joker and a goon wearing clown masks during a heist scene shot in Chicago last month, and the other pic shows Nolan directing a scene with an obscured Ledger in full Joker make-up. Nolan told The Hollywood Reporter, "In continuing the story of such a great icon, I'm thrilled to be able to expand the scope of the film, not just in terms of its story, but in giving Batman and the Joker the largest possible canvas on which to face off. No existing technology compares with the Imax format in terms of its ability to throw the audience into the action, and we're very proud and excited to use this technology in a way that no one has before." THR adds that, in addition to the Joker prologue, "(additional) scenes will be filmed with Imax cameras during the course of production." Posted Image In related news, a scooper for Batman-on-Film.com claims, "The Bat-cycle WILL be in the film, and will look similar to the Tumbler style-wise. They have built ten of these for various purposes. ... They are planning on having the Bat-cycle 'emerge' from the Tumbler. The use of CGI may be incorporated to make it happen." --- Can't wait. I might even go see this at the Melbourne Imax because of this. |

I'm confused - why are they only shooting some scenes in IMAX format? |

I'm guessing because it would be very difficult to have to shoot everything twice using two completely different sets of equipment, which is what you'd have to do. |

I was under the impression that that's what they generally did when they shot movies in IMAX format. This seems a bit half-arsed to me. |

Sometimes I think I was born backwards

I feel much the same way. If you go to see it at the regular theatres, you won't get the benefits of IMAX at all, yes? Yet if you go to see it at IMAX you'll only get the benefits for not even a handful of scenes, which would most definitely feel incomplete. I'd rather see it at a regular theatre, thanks. |

When they normally shoot an imax format movie they only use imax cameras. The normal movies you see at imax cinemas have basically been upscaled to an imax size, but not the same resolution. Also, due to the increased resolution, the imax filmed scenes in the joker will look a little better on normal cinema screens. |

Wake Up.

More than just half-assed, that is totally illogical for a company to decide on doing something like this. |
