I'm glad at least that Nintendo is rushing the Turbo releases to catch up, they could have dragged it out like all other aussie releases.

Well, since TG-16 games never came out here, I'm not at all surprised I don't recognise any of them either...

True, but I've heard of some wonderswan games and other games for consoles that I've never seen. I would have thought if the games were real good I would have heard something about them before.

I know it wasn't mentioned in this thread, but Ace bought Dragon's Curse for TG 16 after I told him it was the TG-16 version of Wonderboy 3 (that was on SMS) with graphical enhancements and saving.
I think it may very well be the first VC game I buy...

Biggest suck about VC as far as I can see is that it doesn't let you configure your button layout, which means even playing with the classic pad bites a bit.

That's one of the hardest adventure games I've played, really. Or at least as far as I can remember... Kings Quest games were hard too.

Indeed. Conversely Day of the Tentacle was light hearted and quirky. I wonder if Nintendo would consider putting SCUMMVM games on WiiWare...? The Wii remote is mouse-like enough.

NeoGeo games are finally hitting Japan. Kotaku reports that they're starting this month with Fatal Fury, Magician Lord and World Heroes. The Japanese VC page says they'll be 900 points a pop. A bit steep if you ask me...

I hope so, they had a neo geo at my tafe break room (when I went to tafe) And I'd spend SO much money on it every day

AN-Report:

Quote:

Nintendo's Japan-only NES title, Super Mario Bros. 2 – or Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels as it was known in the West when it was released as a part of Super Mario All-Stars – is heading to the Australian Virtual Console for the first time on its own later this year. The Office of Film and Literature Classification has rated the game for release, and other interesting titles join it on the organisation's latest list.

Mario's Super Picross, the Japan-only Super Nintendo sequel to the ill-fated Mario's Picross on Game Boy is also slated for release via the Virtual Console in Australia. The interesting thing with this game is that it was compatible with the SNES Mouse, suggesting that the functionality of the device might make a comeback, perhaps via the Wii Remote pointer functionality.

Over in Japan, where the Virtual Console library contains no more Nintendo 64 games than any other region, Nintendo is gearing up for the release of its next N64 title, Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth from Treasure. Following this new revelation regarding the localisation of Mario's Super Picross, will this game too see a release for the first time in the West?

Pretty sure Sin and Punishment is a vertical shooter, so it's bound to have bugger all dialogue to be translated. I think it's likely we'll see it.

As for the NeoGeo, I recall seeing one in a Toy World aaaages ago. Not proof that they were officially released here, but it's enough to hope that VC will see them here.
