ADVANCE WARS 2

Wiki:
Quote:

Advance Wars 2 is the tentative title for a strategy game for the Nintendo DS, developed by Nintendo. It is presumed to be in the Nintendo Wars series as the sequel to Advance Wars: Dual Strike, and is often referred to as Advance Wars DS 2. First revealed during E3 2007 as a listing in an upcoming release schedule for Nintendo DS and Wii games in Europe, the title is currently projected for release in 2008. Aside from a tentative title, genre, and projected European release; no other information has been revealed

GoNintendo have this new info:
Quote:

- Game has an entirely new crew.
- “realistic” graphical approach taken, no more cartoon-like visuals
- new combat animations
- Bike infantry unit added

Well didn't the announcement of this title go under the radar...

Don't like the sound of that, but I'll wait for more info I guess.

If you're doubting the authenticity of this title, it is indeed a title under development that went under the radar.

and by realistic graphics approach, i think its probably more in lines of 3d models etc as opposed to sprites.

Hmm... I think it's pretty believeable.

IGN reported it during E3: http://au.ds.ign.com/articles/804/804082p1.html

All I want is that it's developed by Intelligent Designs. They can take it in whatever direction they want and I won't mind. Those guys have never failed to make a game I enjoy.

Those graphics don't look all that different from AW2, maybe a bit darker and more detailed. Of course, it's hard to tell with all that glare on the screen. What moron takes images like that?

Hello, Dexter Morgan!
Hopefully some direct captures are released soon.

This game can't be far from release if there are already multiple translations made?

Maybe that's not so surprising. AWDS was a relatively early game for the DS and a sequel seemed inevitable. Maybe this game has been in development for a while and Intelligent Systems have been keeping it under wraps for reasons of their own. That's not necessarily a bad thing either.

Looks hot. Knew it was safe to trust Intelligent Designs. Actually looks like a full blown sequel rather than a minor iteration :)

I doubt I will have finished Dual Strike by then still. It's starting to feel very samey to me. I'd like a bit more ambiguous plot rather than clear cut Good Guys vs. Bad Guys.

The Wiki has a nice pool of references.

I think I prefered the original art style. This new direction looks boring.

The Fight scenes look good, but the map overviews are bland IMO.

yeah, music sounded a bit iffy to me, although it could just be the theme they used for the trailer
