Hey, I agree that DR was a VERY flawed game. But what it did do right, I really, really liked. The controls were nothing short of abysmal really and when you start the game, Frank is almost a moron in terms of ability but as you progress you got used to all that and you just really started to learn how to 'survive' the game. I think the thing I really loved about it was the situation it presented to you. Sure, zombies and stuff are a staple of the RE series but the way they did it in DR had me captivated the whole game through. Perhaps it was the off-beat humour mixed in with a story that even manages to get you to question the current state of humankind. Maybe it was the ability to choose to be a hero and try and save everyone or take a more lone approach and just save yourself.

Either that or I just liked the fact you could 'mow' down zombies with an actual mower... I dunno, they are all rather compelling :D.

I won't deny though, that the Wii version COULD be easily stuffed up and given the source material it certainly won't be a game for everyone. As usual, read reviews, try and get a go if you aren't sure before you buy ;)

Yes. In under 3 months I went from being a 360 owner to a PS3 owner. Idiotic? Maybe. Financial Stupidity? Definately. Do I care? No bloody way! :D

Adding on to what Acerlyte said, the game demands a certain degree of patience and hooning about for the first 15 or so levels (your character levels up, unlocking damn sweet wrestling and judo moves and more storage space for your weapons). And yes... you will die countless times until you level up your character and learn that somtimes survivors need to be sacrificed.

Well, I meant best mature game. As in, I reckon it'll easily be better than the RE games which are probably the best on the console right now. I guess you could kinda argue MP3, but it's rated Teen.

Mad World could easily come along and knock DR down though, it's looking pretty sweet.
So you mean mature as in the rating of the game and not the actual approach of the game. Survival horror games can be fun but not what I usually would call mature. If anything, I'd say Super Paper Mario was a mature game despite its predictability in general plot because it had (relatively witty) humour that worked for me and I liked the quirks in level design.

I'm hesitantly interested in this game - I don't like the difficulty in games to be thrown right in your face at the beginning. Games can start too easily and slowly, but I like to warm up to things before facing the tougher challenges.

Sometimes I think I was born backwards
Yeah I totally definitely did not mean mature as in "hmm, this game is touching me on another level" but "OMG MAN DID YOU SEE DEM GUTS LOLZEBROFL!!1".

I reckon you should wait and see, lex. It's a must buy for Ace I'm sure, and he can comment on the difficulty in regard to the 360 version anywho.

IT's a game that caters for people who love levelling up their characters in RPGs before tackling the story... and of course one who enjoys survival horror and anything to do with smashin zombies in the head with a 2x4.

ANyways here's something that was brought to my attention about the Wii's zombie rendering ability.

If anyone's ever played Hitman Blood Money on the PS2, you'll see that it may be possible to create the hordes on the wii... provided that capcom doesn't cock it up - speaking of which, I don't know how to embed movies onto this forum... :S

Anyway, URL for Vid is down here:
